Terminal C Expansion

Düsseldorf Airport

OTC was the airport terminal planner on this winning competition entry to design an extension of Terminal C, providing 7 new contact gates, including one serving an A380.

OTC’s planning arranges the new concourse around a retail and amenity hub, with a central seating area and a go-to-gate concept. Separate high-risk flight boarding areas, with additional security screening and independent access to 6 of the gates, are provided on an upper mezzanine, and airline lounges are configured with direct access to the upper deck of the A380. Each gate provides maximum flexibility, supporting multiple combinations of boarding and disembarkation for contact, bus, and high-risk flights, as well as split MARS operations on one of the gates. A transfer facility provides direct transfer between international flights.
